Smells Like Tobacco Spirit III

June/July 2008 , Page 16

There is little doubt that cigars are a sign of maturity and class, but if you find yourself without your favorite stick (alas), you can nonetheless wear that slight hint of cigar with Santa Maria Novella's fragrance Tabacco Toscano.

Santa Maria Novella, a Florence, Italy-based pharmacy started by monks in the 13th century, has gone global with stores in New York and L.A., but it draws on a more local source for this cologne's inspiration: the Toscano cigars of Lucca, Italy. Tabacco Toscano (we're told) has a sparkling, floral air to it and upon using, changes into a leather-like yet airy tobacco scent, which grows in strength over time. The monks might not approve, but cigar fans certainly will.
